  • SciCom Toolkit

    is a hands-on workshop that will equip early career researchers with a toolkit to facilitate them in communicating their research in a relevant and relatable way. The workshop can be extended to a 1-day workshop.

    Engage and Educate

    is a workshop which explores the foundations of science communication. Using theory and interactivity, participants gather the tools they need to begin meaningful conversations by understanding their target audience. A flexible and personalized format allows participants to strengthen their existing communication skills and address areas of growth.

    One-Minute Story

    is an interactive workshop which explores using theatre and storytelling techniques to help scientists and researchers communicate their work with non-specialist audiences. The workshop can be extended to a 1-day workshop.

    Plain Language

    is an interactive workshop which provides tools and resources for communicating clearly and effectively with different audiences. The content of this workshop is broadly applicable, from written, to verbal, to visual communications and beyond. Participants will use the lens of accessibility to understand the importance and implementation of the workshop content.

  • We use theatre as a powerful tool to showcase the complex dynamics of discrimination and how it hinders equity, diversity, and inclusion. Aided by guidelines and recommended actions provided by our 1.5-hour workshop, these understandings can become action.

    With a toolkit of experience and action recommendations from our workshops, solid steps can be taken to reduce bias, create an inclusive environment, and ensure equity for everyone within your team or organisation.

  • If you would like to outsource content creation for your Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and/or Twitter handles, you can select our SciComm SoMe package. We first create a plan and timeline for you and then create content accordingly after your approval. To ensure quality, we follow the guidelines prepared by the EU H2020 project "Quality and Effectiveness in Science and Technology Communication" (QUEST). A graphic designer, social media expert and science communicator will work together to maintain the scientific rigour, consistent presentation & style and help build a connection with your followers on social media. The pricing of the package depends on the frequency of posts required for the social media platforms and the timeline.

  • EXPLAINER BLOG

    Starts at 200 € / 1500 DKK

    An Explainer Blog describes a topic (e.g. climate change, wind turbines, quantum technology) succinctly to your readers. Our science communicator will put together text and stock images to explain the topic. Customized images can also be included depending on your budget.

    RESEARCH FINDINGS

    Starts at 400 € / 3000 DKK

    If you would like to publish a blog or content for your website to communicate the findings from your latest research to the public, we can design it for you. A science communicator will interview you and design a compelling storyline, layout, text and customized graphics for your blog or webpage.

  • VIDEO ABSTRACT

    A Video Abstract is a video that is typically between 1 - 4 minutes long, which talks about your research article and its key findings. Such videos are often required by journals as they have become an increasingly popular way to get others to engage with published research, increasing the visibility of your work and raising your profile. When you order a Video Abstract, a scientific expert from Science Melting Pot will read your research article, prepare a compelling storyboard, which is then used to create your final video after your approval. We include images from your research paper and stock images & animations, if necessary. The pricing of the video depends on the length of the video and the kind of animations required.

    EVENT ADVERTISEMENT

    Event Advertisement videos are designed to advertise an event, conference or your newly launched research centre. It could be a trailer-like video or an advertisement post the event, which is typically 1-3 minutes long. We take of everything you need, such as filming, voiceovers, music- all tailored to your needs.

    EXPLAINER VIDEO

    Explainer videos are typically 3-5 minute long videos that explain a concept or theme succinctly. Keeping in mind the target audience, we take care of everything you need, such as filming, script preparation by a science communicator, adding audio, voiceovers and images - all tailored to your needs.

    EDUCATION PROGRAMME

    As the name suggests, Education Programme videos are about explaining an educational programme that you are offering. The video will be between 5-10 minutes long explaining the 'what', 'why' and 'how' of your programme targeted towards students, teachers or decision-makers at educational organisations.
