Science of Coffee

At our Science of Coffee workshop, we talked about many things ranging from the physics behind brewing techniques to aroma compounds in coffee beans. What’s even better is that the participants could use this knowledge to make a perfect cup of coffee at home!

Thanks to Aarhus Soup for the crowdfund and Ungdomskulturhuset - UKH for the venue. Thank you to our collaborators, freelancers, volunteers and content providers: Ditte, Elham, Palle, Jan and Compound Interest.

Science of Coffee

At this workshop, a coffee expert (Palle & co.) and a physicist (Shaeema) explained the science behind the techniques that can be used to make that perfect cup of coffee at home!
At this workshop, the goals were to:
✅ Understand what goes behind when a barista makes coffee for you
✅ Experience a coffee tasting session
✅ Understand scientifically how does size & distribution of coffee grounds affect the flavour of coffee
✅ Make espresso, filter or french press coffee yourself using techniques given by the coffee expert

The workshop was crowdfunded by our supporters from Aarhus Soup Vol. 6—where we pitched our idea and won their hearts and votes, and this workshop turned into reality :)
